Some people used to say that we must be able to distinguish between the artwork and the artist, when there was something problematic that the person/artist did.

Now we ask ourselves whether the artwork has a person.

Remember AI art generation tools include, and are heavily trained on, the work of a vast, uncurated range of artists and painters, which inherently includes those considered problematic, controversial, or unethical.
